Event: EVCFE / “…And the Word was made flesh”
About: The title of the exhibition is not casual, the quotation from the Gospel of John refers to the ability of the Russian artist Pavel Brat to transforms sheets of papers and books into living matter. The exhibition will be accompanied everyday at 6pm by a 30-minute performance realised by the Human Architecture Lab––a group of contemporary dancers and artists that will perform, inspired by the art works.

Event: Meeting with the artist Ottjörg A.C.
About: After a long tour between New York, Beirut, Sarajevo and many other cities, the German artist Claus Andreas Ottjörg (known as Ottjörg A.C.) will finally arrive in the Russia’s cultural capital to present his latest project called Deskxistence. During the presentation the artist will talk about his project and will present his original work realised in St Petersburg.

Event: Free entrance to the State Russian Museum
About: In honor of the 175th anniversary of Sberbank, the entry to 18 museums throughout Russia will be free of charge during October and November. In St Petersburg residents and visitors will be able to access the State Russian Museum and the permanent exhibit Wassily Kandinsky and Russia.

Event: World Press Photo 2016
About: The World Press Photo is a yearly exhibition of the best visual journalism of the year. The winner of this year was the photo taken by Warren Richardson, portraying a Syrian refugee handing a baby through a wire barrier, a scene emblematic of the current migrant crisis.

Event: Demonstration for the right to abortion
About: Although the total ban on abortion in Poland was rejected by the government, protests on women rights are not over. Inspired by the ‘Black Protests’ in neighbouring Poland, St Petersburg will see on Saturday another demonstration to discuss women’s rights and revendicate the right to have free access to abortion.

Event: Mexican Film Festival
About: In honor of the Feast of the Hispanic Culture (Día de la Hispanidad) the Alexandrinsky Theatre will open its doors to a Mexican Film Festival, beside the opportunity of watching some of the greatest Mexican movies the festival will also include music and lectures.
