Event: Couchsurfing weekly meeting
About: It’s time to widen your circle of friends and meet some new ones! Join Thursday’s social workout at the art-cafe Africa. Make some new friends and practice your language skills with a group of international people and curious locals. It’s the perfect place to find a language tandem or just have a drink in good company.

Event:  Multifest
About: This weekend, the new creative space Multiplace located in the heart of the city will officially be celebrating its opening. Here you can find everything from designer clothes, second-hand shops, paintings, photographs, and handcrafted works. During the event there will be screening of movies, different workshops, a live quest with surprises from the residents, video games competitions and an exhibition. Check the complete programme here.

Event: Concert DJ Tiësto
About: The Dutch DJ Tijs Michiel Verwest, better known by his artist name DJ Tiësto won the title of Greatest DJ of All Time voted by his fans in 2011. He is among the Top 100 influential stars of the world according to Forbes and the highest paid DJ on the planet.

Event: Pizza Festival
About: For all the fans of the Italian dish the new anti-cafe Postscriptum will host a unique pizza festival in which the participants will have the chance to try all different sorts of pizzas. Eat as much pizza as you can for only 200 roubles per hour!

Event: An evening of improvisations
About: This weekend performance is by The St Petersburg Improvisers’ Orchestra under Dmitry Shubin with special invited guests from France, Vincent Lê Quang on the saxophone and Alvise Sinivia on the piano. Vincent Lê Quang is a composer, jazz saxophonist, improviser and teacher. Since 2008, he has taught generative improvisation at the Conservatoire National de Paris. He directs an orchestra that specialises in sound painting – a technique invented by the composer Walter Thompson. Watch one of his performances here.

Event: Movie Island of his dreams
About: The film tells the story of the regular visits that the legendary Russian ballet dancer, Rudolf Nureyev, made to Turkey between 1980 and 1990. Catch the trailer here.

Event: Hollywood Diva
About: St Petersburg’s Theatre of Musical Comedy will be presenting Hollywood Diva, the musical comedy in two acts. The heart of the comedy remains a mystery, but the scene is set in Hollywood during the early twentieth century. Since the opening premiere in Vienna, the play has gone live over 200 times around the world. For the St Petersburg audience, the play has been translated from the German to Russian– a great way to test your Russian sense of humour. Buy tickets here.
