Event: Film Screenings from the Competition Programme of the II Moscow International Experimental Film Festival
About: The MIEFF film festival showcases the productions of cinematographers and video-artists working on the boundary between artistic practices. On 5 August visitors to New Holland will have the opportunity to see selected pieces from the festival’s competition programme, and on 6 August the Leningrad-born artist and director Anton Ginzburg, St Petersburg University Alumnus and last year’s MIEFF winner, who is also participating in this year’s competition, will present two of his works, Turo and Hyperborea. Event: Exhibition: “Born by the Winds of Absheron. Azerbaijani painters of 1960s—80s”
About: “Born by the Winds of Absheron. Azerbaijani painters of 1960s—80s” is the common project of the Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art, Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Mardjani Foundation.
At the exhibition, you can see works by classical Azerbaijani painters of the 20th century.
Together with the masterpieces of Togrul Narimanbekov, Geyur Yunus, pictures by Javad Mirjavadov, Tofik Javadov, Ashraf Murad, Kamal Ahmad, Rasim Babayev and the sculptor Fazil Nadjafov who represent the unique art community in Azerbaijani art of 1960s—80s known as the “Absheron school” can be seen at the Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art for the first time.
